Let's see....what have I been up to since graduation?? Well, after walking out the doors of our beloved alma mater, I moved up to Sacramento to begin my higher education at CSU Sacramento, majoring in Child Development. I've pretty much been there ever since. Due to the demand to work as well as my interest in adding on theatre arts a minor, it took me almost six years to graduate, earning my BA in May 2005. I got my first real job out of college, working at a before/after school/on-track program for CDI, a child development organization. It was a nice experience since I was able to apply everything I had learned in school. However, due to the long commute from Sacramento to Elk Grove via public transportation, I settled for a job closer to home, at the Phoenix Schools (not to be confused with University of Phoenix) a privately-owned child care program, in downtown Sacramento. It's only a light rail ride away and helped a lot with those pesky gas prices especially during the summer. After nearly two years of chasing after toddlers, and teaching them their ABCs, the early stages of impulse control, and how to share their toys with others, I made the decision to go back to school and pursue my multiple-subjects teaching credential. I've wanted to have my own classroom for the longest time and look forward to teaching either 3rd or 4th grade, and preparing children to be future leaders of America. = )
I've been living with my current roommate for about four years now. We have our three cats, Lyric, Ethel, and Wassily. I also have been involved for the past year and half with the most sincere, considerate, stable guy I've ever met. Jeff has been the sunshine in my life and I love him for being there for me through thick and thin. I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion and reminiscing about past memories. Ten years!!?? Wow, where did the time go?
